How to regain inspiration

Hi again, Today we are gonna talk about regaining your inspiration. I’m taking this subject because I just came out of an creativity-less period and let me tell you nothing is as bad for a designer than losing there creativity. To take back what you lost, you must first know what you lost. This is not a how-to guide. There is no pill to take or a 10 step tutorial for it. We can however get some insights.

What is lost ?

What is creativity? Creativity is the thing that separates you from the masses, It’s that little voice that Tell’s you: let’s try something new. This can be a lot of things; creating a poster, making a website, drawing a picture even rearranging you workspace. Most of all creativity is a risk, it’s something you start with but don’t know how it will end or that people gonna like it.

How did it get lost?

Now this can happen on a million way’s, the most common are dullness. Waking up at the same time everyday, walking the same road to work … generally doing the same things over and over again. This can happen before you know it and can be quite difficult to get out. An other way is getting to much stress or working to hard. Another creativity killer can be a forced look on things; your boss forces a view on you and you can’t walk out of the lines he has drawn.

What to do?

First you need to find out what the problem is. If your problem is dullness than small things can save you, taking a different road for example. changing small things in your life can do miracles. If you have to much stress then you can just wait for it to blow over. If that is not the case you will need to adjust to the stress level and again time can be a friend here. The boss thing can be the most difficult of all. Or you realise that you can never be as creative as you though you could be, or try and talk with your bosses. If that doesn’t work for you, you better find another job. I think you will be happier doing something you like to do, than working  that heavy job that earns a lot of cash.

The most important thing you need to do is want to regain you creativity. If you really want it back you will get it back.
